LegalBizDev helps law firms increase profitability by improving business development, alternative fees, and project management. We offer coaching, webinars, workshops, distance learning, retreats, train the trainer programs, books and CDs.
We help each individual to identify the action items that are most likely to produce immediate and practical results for their practice, their personality and their schedule. Our proprietary process helps lawyers to make the best use of their limited marketing time by building on best practices from other law firms and other professions. For example:
We help lawyers decide how to increase
new business with individual clients
by reviewing a list of best practices
that have worked for others (on page
30 of The LegalBizDev Desk Reference).
We don't just tell lawyers that listening
is important, we provide them with an
list of questions in five categories,
so that each attorney can quickly customize
two or three questions to fit a particular
situation (p. 88)
We don't just tell lawyers that the
general principles behind elevator speeches,
we give them a six step worksheet to
quickly create their own (p. 53)

Before we started working with lawyers, we had 20 years of success developing award winning training programs for such clients such as American Express, the Bank of America, the Bank of New York, JP Morgan, State Street, TIAA-CREF, TD Waterhouse, Zurich Financial Services and many others. In 2005, in response to the enormous changes and opportunities in the legal profession, we decided to limit our services exclusively to the needs of large and mid-sized law firms, and renamed the company LegalBizDev.
Typical engagements include:
A presentation at the partners meeting for a 2,000 lawyer firm
Business development coaching for a 400 lawyer firm – dozens of lawyers over several years

Six monthly presentations to a group of litigators at a 750 lawyer firm
Keynote speech at the annual marketing meeting of a 700 lawyer firm, and a followup assignment to coach two lawyers
